It was getting late already - but a picture of the city hall (even with boarding at the bottom) can't be left out. The statue is Brabo, a Roman hero who conquered the Giant Antigoon and is here seen throwing Antigoon's hand in the river Schelde.  Posted by Hello

The last boat to leave, a russian one - it's not very obvious, but the shipmates were scrambling over the masts, unfurling bits of the sails... Posted by Hello

a few guys managed - with some scrambling - to get even closer. Posted by Hello

Here you can see the cathedral only has 1 elaborate spire - for the other one there wasn't any money left, it has only a titichy one... Posted by Hello

Antwerp Harbour - I'm on the Left bank (Linkeroever) where there was still a bit of space - across the quays are packed with people. Loads of beautiful boats - this one even had cannons that blasted every time another boat departed (not with real cannonballs luckily!) In the background the gothic cathedral. Posted by Hello

It was nice weather yesterday - got the sunburned neck to prove it - and loads of boat pics.  I still need to cut and trim the ears, elbows and shoulders off and then I can show a few here (pics, not ears and such).
